Apocalypse is an immortal mutant linked with extraterrestrial technology and he is one of the most terrifying villains in Marvel Heroes, inflicting chaos on the past, present, and future. He is responsible for transforming Angel, Warren Kenneth Worthington III later became Archangel, into one of his 4 Horsemen that infects Cyclops' son with a "techno-organic virus". That was the reason why the child had to be sent to the future where he became the time-traveling combatant known as Cable, who returns back to the past to put off Apocalypse's future dominance of the world.
