Icarus, the Phoenix

The latest Icarus, the Phoenix, is here in DotA 6.70 map version. Icarus is a Sentinel strength type hero built. Some would say that this new hero is imba as well as Ymir, the Tuskarr. Perhaps they will make some changes of this hero for the next map update.

Icarus, The Phoenix

Here’s his background story: “Ancient scriptures spoke of seven sacred emanations of light, and of their convergence in great conflict. The collision of these rays upon the mortal realm created a pyre of the highest purity, giving birth to the mythical Phoenix. As a manifestation of divine flames, Icarus can discharge either flames of death and destruction, or of life and healing. The concentrated beam of energy that he can emit can incinerate whole armies from across the battlefield. Unafraid to utilize his own life-force in order to vanquish his enemies, Icarus can also harness the direct power of the sun to create a stellar explosion.”

Icarus Dive (D)

Phoenix dives forward in an arc with a fixed distance in the targeted direction, dealing damage and disarming any units he comes into contact with, and then orbiting back to his original position. Phoenix is magic immune during the dive but not in physical attack. You can stop the Icarus Dive manually by pressing the hotkey (D) again. Icarus Dive is helpful in escaping or run after the enemies.

Fire Spirits (F)
Born out of his own life force, Icarus creates 4 fire spirits to fly alongside him. Each spirit slowly grows in power and can be used to damage his enemies or heal his allies. It costs 10% of your current HP to cast. Fire Spirits heal allied units and damages enemy units in a 400AoE around an exploding spirit. You can manually cast it to an ally for healing or to a foe for receiving damage by pressing the hotkey (F) again.

Target Fire Spirits (F)
Targets a fire spirit towards a unit. It can only be used when Fire Spirits were called.

Sun Ray (R)
Drawing from his own inner fire, Icarus expels a huge beam of light at the cost of his own life energy. The beam slows and damages enemies for a percentage of their life. It costs 25% of current HP to activate. It will automatically stop if Phoenix lacks mana, casts Supernova, or if he is stunned or silenced but it doesn’t matter anyway because it has no cooldown. Phoenix loses the ability to move and to attack but by pressing (E), it allows Phoenix to move in the direction of his Sun Ray.

Sun Ray Movement (E)
Allows Phoenix to move in the direction of his Sun Ray. It can only be used when Sun Ray is unleashed.

Supernova (V)
The Phoenix willingly ends his current life for the chance to be reborn. Transforms into a burning sun that scorches enemies within 1000 range. The sun can be attacked by enemy heroes; if it is destroyed, the Phoenix dies as well. However, if the sun survives for 6 seconds all enemies in range will be stunned and the Phoenix will return to life fully regenerated. During the clash, the Phoenix should be protected. It will die if Supernova Ball is being hit with physical attack and loses HP.

Alleria the WindRunner Dota Tips

Alleria, an elf with the power of the wind joined the Sentinel as a free agent shortly after the War of the Magi. Alleria, the Windrunner, was favored and received a lot of blessings from the Goddess of Wind. Her arrows discharge immediately in a line shooting all enemies and she can also fastened her arrows with wind that will attach enemies collectively through ethereal shackles. She can chase or escape from her enemies with her accelerated footsteps by the currents of air. She can dispatch enemies at blinding speed by releasing flurry of arrows. Without a doubt, Alleria is a worthy enemy of the Scourge.

Alleria is now one of my favorite intelligence DotA characters in Sentinel and I want to share my item build with this heroin. Her Powershot is excellent in farming and I guess this skill looks annoying to your opponents because they can’t easily dodge or avoid this in no time for it discharges so swiftly; therefore, you better upgrade this skill in the early game. And with this skill, you can buy right away those expensive damage items like Buriza-do Kyanon or Monkey King Bar, such items are needed especially when you use her ultimate Focus Fire skill. Since, damage is reduced into 50%, her ultimate skill does not work well in the early game and for this reason, you needed to have damage items in the later part of the game. Shackleshot, an arrow that stuns enemies in seconds, and Windrunner, a skill which increases 50% movement speed, are very handy in chasing or escaping from enemies, thus, Lothars is not needed here anymore. But still, be vigilant with stunner, trapper, silencer and disabler characters; for they are your worst nightmare.

My Complete Item Build:

Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse - gives +35 Intelligence, +10 Stength, +10 Agility, +200% mana regen and Hex Active Skill. Very effective in dealing opponents with blinking or any escaping skills.

Buriza-do Kyanon - gives +75 Damage, Critical Strike Passive Damage and 20% Chance 2.2x Damage Multiplier. This is very useful when using the ultimate skill, Focus Fire.

Monkey King Bar - gives +75 Damage, +15% Attack Speed, Bonus Damage Passive Skill and 100 Damage to Target 0.01 Second Stun 30% Chance. This is also very useful when using the ultimate skill, Focus Fire.

Boots of Travel - gives +90 Run Speed and Teleportation. This is too imba when chasing or running away from enemy especially with Windrunner skill.

Stygian Desolator - gives +60 Damage, Corruption (Passive Skill) and -6 Armor to Enemy Target.

Orchid Malevolence - gives +20 Intelligence, 30% increased aspd, +40 damage, +225% mana regen and Soul Burn (active). I use this just to increase mana and mana regen.
